How Pure Water Cleaning Works
Water Purification
Regular tap water contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, and chlorine. These are what cause water spots and streaks when water dries. We filter tap water through a multi-stage purification system including sediment filters, carbon filters, reverse osmosis (RO), and deionization (DI) resin. This removes 100% of dissolved minerals.
Technical bit: We measure water purity in TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). Tap water is typically 200-400 TDS. Our purified water is 0 TDS - completely pure H₂O.
The Water-Fed Pole
Pure water is stored in a tank (usually in our van) and pumped through a lightweight telescopic pole - these can reach up to 65 feet, meaning we can clean most 3-4 storey buildings safely from the ground. At the top of the pole is a specially designed brush head with jets that spray pure water while we scrub.
Cleaning Process
The soft bristle brush agitates and loosens dirt, bird mess, cobwebs, and grime from the glass, frames, and sills. Meanwhile, pure water continuously rinses everything away. We work systematically across each window, ensuring thorough coverage.
The Magic: Drying
Here's where the science happens. When we finish, your windows will be wet - and that's perfectly normal. As the pure water evaporates, it leaves absolutely nothing behind. No minerals = no spots = no streaks.
Think of it like distilled water - it's so pure that when it evaporates, there's literally nothing left to mark the glass.
Why We Don't Use Squeegees
Traditional window cleaning uses soapy water and squeegees because tap water leaves marks. The squeegee removes the dirty water before it can dry and leave residue.
But here's the thing: soap leaves a sticky residue on the glass. This residue actually attracts dirt, which is why traditionally-cleaned windows get dirty faster.
With pure water, there's no soap and no minerals. The glass is left completely clean with no residue at all. Dirt has nothing to stick to, so your windows stay cleaner for longer. Using a squeegee would actually reintroduce contaminants from the rubber blade!

What to Expect After We Leave
- Wet windows are normal - they'll dry within 10-30 minutes depending on weather
- Any water drops will dry clear - don't wipe them! Wiping with a cloth introduces contaminants
- First clean may need a "settling in" period - if your windows haven't been cleaned this way before, old soap residue may take 1-2 cleans to fully remove
- Frames and sills are cleaned too - we don't just do the glass!
Frequently Asked Questions
What if it rains after you've cleaned?
Rainwater is actually relatively pure! Light rain won't affect your clean windows. Heavy rain with lots of dust/pollen in the air might leave some spots, but generally rain isn't a problem.
Can you clean all types of windows?
Yes! Water-fed poles work on UPVC, aluminium, wooden frames, conservatories, skylights, and more. For certain situations (like interior windows or very delicate leaded glass), we may use traditional methods.
Is pure water safe for my window seals?
